My latest projects, I painted my room it wasn't in the plan but I was bored. Kali's room is almost done, I finally painted the clouds I was so scared that they would turn out cheesy but I think they turned out pretty good, although you can't see them in the picture very well. Now I just need a saw to finish all the other projects I want to make for her room.

You could say I am buying my guilt away for making my kids move across country, so what. Not really, the drums did not pan out for Tanner so unfortunately he wanted a refund of his portion of the drum money. And guess what he wanted. At least I know a thing or two about a piano, and can teach him a little something without having to pay for lessons. I am glad to see them have an interest in something other than whats next on Nickelodeon:) Kaden has had one lesson on the drums and is catching on real quick, he has another lesson tomorrow, I can't wait for something new to listen to.

Every night I read my kids stories, starting with the boys. I read for about 20 minutes depending what time they get in bed. Kali will either play in her room or look at books but usually she will come in the boys room and bug them. Last night she was unusually quiet, I thought maybe she had fallen asleep (yeah right). When I left the boys room she was on the computer in the hall upstairs. She had booted it up and got into the program wordpad, (she learned how to do this at school), and wrote me the cutest letter. If you don't read Kali language it says "I love my mom she is very very cute very very cute and very pretty Love Kali" Isn't that the cutest thing ever.

Love is in the air

Happy Valentines day. Every Valentines I give my littlest valentines a little treat, I put it on the table so when they come and eat breakfast in the morning they will see it. So last night when I went to put their treats out I saw a surprise on the table. My kids had made origami hearts and put a picture of themselves in them. How crafty are they. It was so cute.

ROCK ON

My kids the rockstars. Jason (my little brother) got drums right before we moved to NC, Kaden has been begging for them ever since. Santa didn't bring him any so Kaden and Tanner put their money together $172.00 to buy some drums. And because they are such great kids I put up the rest of the money so they could start their rock band. They have been planning who will play what and who their manager will be, they are trying to think of a name for their band. Only one more thing and they are set, They need to learn to play some instruments and they are on their way. So cute So cute.

Bragging rights

Okay I am going to brag. I have the smartest boys a girl could ask for. They have been working so hard in school. They do not like their new school and their teachers are not very nice or forgiving with mistakes or forgotten work. They have about an hour of homework every night. Tanner got on the honor roll (which means all A's), meeting and exceeding reading and math test goals. Kaden got on the Principal's list (which means all A's and B's) he got one B. He also exceeded the reading and math goals set for his grade level. I am so proud of them.

A lot of sweat and tears

This is Kali's room. It is not as bright as the picture looks it is more pastel. I'm excited to finish this one I have lots of ideas. But I left my mom's saw and sander back in Utah. I am going through withdrawals. I am going to paint clouds on the ceiling but I am scared I am going to mess it up. If any one has any tips please send them this way.
It is hard to see but this is my red kitchen. I love it, it was a pain though I don't know who has painted with dark red but this included one coat of tinted primer and three coats of paint and it really probably could have used one more coat. But it was worth it.
This is Tanner's half.
Kaden's room. I was really impressed with this one. It is so fun to change the look of a room with just a little paint , ok a lot of paint. It makes the room much more cozy.
The dinning room. It's not blue any more. It's still kind of empty but anything is better than what it was. We want to get a new chandelier.
This is the upstairs bathroom. I wanted to make it cute for the kids, but I couldn't find a shower curtain that I liked. I had some leftover blue paint from kali's room so I decided to use it we are starving students you know. I think it turned out pretty cute very bright and not my normal style but I think I like it.
I wanted to show you what I have been up to . We have been so busy, Kevin has started school, so he is gone from 5:30 in the morning to when ever the library closes either 8:00 or 10:00 or sometimes 12:00 depending on the day. To say the least he is very stressed out this week he has his first tests. The kids are still hating school but are hanging in there. I have been keeping myself busy making our house look nicer. The walls were awful it felt like they had just been primed and not painted so for the last 3 weeks I have been painting I am almost through. My mom was very anxious to see the progress so far so here it is. You will have to go back to my older posts to compare.
