Strawberries

Today we went to a strawberry patch. It was way to hot but I wasn't going to waste another day sitting around the house. We started out going to little Washington to get Bill's hot dogs, but because it is Memorial Day it was closed. So McDonald's, and Taco Bell had to do. We took our lunches to the boardwalk and had a picnic. Then we walked down the boardwalk to see what ever was out today, same old, same old. turtles, fish, lily pads. We had a good time.

The kids had a great time picking strawberries they wouldn't stop. We went home with about 7 lbs. But at $1.00 a pound that's not a bad deal. I will probably make strawberry jam, if we don't eat them all first.

This is Tanner's friend Lane, Tanner wants him to come everywhere with us. He is a pretty good kid so we let him sometimes.
I love how Lenette puts pictures of herself on her blog. I hate pictures of myself but I thought it is my blog after all, I will put a few pictures of me, even though I am behind the camera 99.9% of the time.

Yum, Yum, these are the best strawberries I have ever had, we have to be careful not to eat them to fast. If you know what I mean.

Kali's birthday party

Every year I like to do somewhat of a theme for my kids b-day parties. After changing her mind about a zillion times Kali finally came up with a monkey theme. So I went with it.
This is her monkey pinata.Monkey cake, with banana cup cakes for those who do not like chocolate.
We did a carnival party, with balloon animals, face painting, the whole works. This is Kaden's dog that he did all by himself.

Bean bag toss, with banana bean bags.
whats a carnival without popcorn.
The fishing pond
Then it was present time, Kali got a lot of fun stuff from her friends.
Kali had a great time with all her new friends.

Mother's day

My mothers day.... My wonderful kids and husband surprised me with breakfast in bed, along with cards, poems, pictures and flowers. It was very nice. Then off to the beach.Kevin has been wanting to go the beach all break but the wonderful 90 degree weather we had been having turned to 60's and 70's. Which is a nice break unless you want to go to the beach. So we went anyway.
It was cloudy and cool but that didn't stop the kids including Kevin to go swimming. The water was as warm as the air.
We had a great time I would not want to spend my mothers day any other way, except maybe to spend it with my own mom. We did get to talk I guess that will have to do.
I had to take the opportunity to take cute pictures of my kids so I apologize, I'm sure you have seen enough cute pictures of my kids, I just can't get enough.

We love visitors (hint, hint)

First off I would like to let everyone know that my Husband has been working so hard in school this last 4 months and it payed off. He received a B in all 4 of his classes!! We are so proud of him. We have also enjoyed his presents at our house for the last week. He gets a 10 day break and it is great. His parents, aka Nana and Papa came to visit, they got to celebrate Kevin and Kali's birthday with us and see each of the kids play a game of baseball. We also went to a lot of fun sights to show them the east coast. Unfortunately we were unable to go the the beach for the weather would not cooperate with us. Around NC there are a lot of random grave sites they have very old graves dating back to the early 1800, spooky. This is River Park North it is a waking path through the swamp it is very peaceful.

We took them to Washington (little Washington) not to be confused with Big Washington. We got Bills hot dogs (they are almost florescent red, but very good and famous according to all the locals) We had a picnic on the boardwalk.
Then we walked along the boardwalk and I cant believe all the wild life we saw. You see the toad in this picture?
This is a Muskrat, it was so creepy, it was probably 2 feet long from nose to tip of tail.
This is a Water Moccasin a poisonous snake. Again very creepy.
There were Lily pads everywhere, it was so pretty. Tanner counted over 300 turtles.

In little Washington they have all these painted crabs, there version on the painted buffalo we have in Utah. Well we had a great time, it is so nice to get away from the routine of life and do something different. Thank you so much for coming Nana and Papa...

just one of the boys!!

Since we can't find a dance group here Kali wanted to sign up for baseball. Her age group is called peewee it is coach pitch. She had her first game on Saturday and according to her she got 2 home runs. She was up to bat 3 times and hit every time. The coach also put her on second base, and for all of you that know baseball all the better players play infield, so she thought she was pretty cool. Did I mention she is the only girl on the team. It is so fun to watch all the kids play, the boys love helping Kali giving her tips and showing her the ropes. It is so cute.
