Emerald Isle continued

This past weekend we took the kids and a friend to Emerald Isle. We rented a condo and stayed for a couple of nights. It was so nice to get away. On the way to the beach there were wild flowers along side the road. This is not a good picture but you get the picture.

This is crossing the bridge to the Isle. Or Island? Is it the same thing? I don't know.
We spent most of our time on the beach, Saturday was so nice and warm. The water was still to cold for my liking but the kids and Kevin couldn't get enough. Instead I laid out, and finished my book and got fried.
Kali's idea of surfing. She waits for the waves to come to her.

Tanner's friend, Jon Michael, bought a skim board. This is Tanner trying it out.
Kaden trying it out, he didn't quite get it.
Kevin bought some Smash ball rackets. They were a lot of fun. Me and him had the record of 63 hits in a row.

The condo had 3 swimming pools, 2 out and 1 in. They were not heated, so cold. Again I opted not to get in. They also had tennis courts. It reminded me a lot of Sweet water in Bear lake. This is the cook out king. We had a yummy dinner, burgers, dogs and shrimp (fresh road side shrimp)
One night we were there Kevin wanted to cook smores on the beach. It was so cold and windy but he was determined. See picture below.

where do I start

We have been so busy hence the lack of posts. I will start with the end of Kali's birthday celebration. She wanted to go to Sonic for dinner, but before that she went to Target to spend birthday money. She finally got he DS that she has been wanting ever since Tanner and Kaden got theirs.
And of course more baseball, both of the boys teams are in second place and we are nearing the end of the season. This is Tanner stealing home at on of his resent games. See the ball in the air. He was safe bringing the score to 9-3.

This is the after shot. The ball missed the glove and hit Tanner in the chin, a week and a half later he still has the bruise.
Tanner being Mr cool. this is before the accident.
Kaden getting advise from his coach, as he rounds third.
They have stuck Kaden in as pitcher a lot lately, he is doing really well. I though I had a shot but I don't maybe I will get one tonight.
This is my birthday boy. We had a game that night. I had to come late because I was on a field trip with Tanners trip (see below) I brought 48 cupcakes and we all sang to him. He asked me if I had also brought $145 with me. I asked him why, he had got pulled over on his way to the ballpark, he was not wearing his seat belt, and Kali was not in a booster seat. Way to go. Kevin also had his final on his B-Day and got a 92%, he is amazing. He got all A's again. He was in the OR 3 days a week with cases and got great reports from all the CRNA's that he worked with. His is now done with 4 out of 7 semesters of school. He has less than one year left. Yea!!!

I went with the fifth grade, to the Outer Banks. They do this field trip every year. They charter buses and take the 2 12 hour drive out to the Outer Banks. This is Festival Park. They did a show and we saw a lot of old stuff form the late 1500.
This is Tanner's teacher, Kevin thinks I have a crush on him. He is cute. Tanner loves him, and Kaden said he won't go to school next year if he doesn't have Mr. Thomas.
This is the group I was in charge of at the aquarium.
Then we to Jockeys Ridge. This is sand dunes right by Kill Devils hill. I wish I knew about these when I took my family to the Wright Bros. Museum. This was my favorite part.
Tanner and his friend John Micheal.
Now on to Mother's Day. I got a wonderful breakfast in bed along with some great cards. I am going to quote a poem written by Kaden.
"There once was a mom named Kim,
Whose nephew liked to call her mim,
She is a great mom,
and she is totally da bomb,
and the milk she buys is skim."
isn't he so cute.

We wanted to go to the beach for Mothers Day and to celebrate Kevin's B-day. But the weather was cold and rainy. So we decided to go to the Museum of Natural Science History in Raleigh.
I wish I could have got a better picture of this fish, it had teeth it made us laugh so hard.
Those are blue whale bones be hind those handsome fella'sThanks for making me the happiest mother around. You kiddo's are the best I could ever hope for.

Kali Rocks

Yesterday we had Kali's birthday party. She wanted a Rock Star theme, I love themes it is fun to put little details in the party. This was the invite.
Kali's party started out having a super model theme, I was going to make photo albums for all our super model poses that we were going to do, but when we saw this material we changed the theme. We still made the albums for our rock star makeovers.
The star cupcakes and Amy's great idea, microphones.
A guitar pinata. Instead of hanging it up we smashed it on the ground like all great rock stars.
I made this pinata and am quite proud. I had to get lots of pictures, cuz I knew it wouldn't last.

We played pin the clothes on the Rock star. This is the before
And this is the after.

Just me and my girl posing before everyone got hereWe added the name of Kali's band to the front of the drums. She made it up "Kal's and the Band"
The whole crazy bunch.

We also did rock star make overs I stole the idea from Becky. I brought my salon chair in from the garage and set up a little station, I don't know why we didn't get any pictures. But here is the end result. This is the entire party. The boy on the far right is Bryson, Kali's crush. Kali decided she did not want to invite boys next year they were dumb and just bugged the girls the whole time. I think she had a good time and got lots of money and presents. Today is her real birthday, we are just taking it easy she just wants to hang around the house. We are going to Sonic for dinner at Kali's request.
