About 10 minutes into carving Kaden stabbed himself. He was carving into the top of a mini pumpkin and the knife went all the way through the pumpkin into his palm. We got he bleeding to stop and it wasn't to deep. But we did take the knives away from the kids 11 and under. About an hour after that I was carving into Kaden's big pumpkin and some how stabbed myself in my thumb, lots of blood and a bit of pressure later I am almost as good as new. Kevin insisted on reenacting it (bloody tissue and all) for a picture.
The knife went all the way through to the other side of my hand and made an exit wound. Needless to say we will be painting pumpkins next year.

My baby turns 13.
Tanner had his party at a park again because he invited 40 people, about 25 showed up. They played soccer and ate hot dogs and had a great time.
Kevin and I got Tanner a cell phone for his birthday, we put it in a bag and we texted him with a happy birthday message. We wanted him to be opening presents and hear a ring, and wonder what it could be. Right when the phone started ringing he opened a card that had music. So it did go as smoothly as we wished but it was still a great surprise. See for yourself. He was so excited, I know it is hard to tell but that is an excited reaction from Tanner

Tanner is so sweet, smart, fun, a great joy for the whole family. He has really grown up this year, he has grown at least 5 inches and he is so much more of a helper, and he gets along with Kali and Kaden better than ever. He is such a great boy. I hope this is the beginning of a great teenager phase of life.
Love the do, I keep asking Tanner if he wants to cut his hair and he says no the girls don't want me to. We tame it a little before school.
Tanner has turned into quite the soccer stud, he catches on so quick to anything he does. He is playing with kids 13-15 and he has scored 4 goals in the last 2 games.

1st off ouch on all the stabbing around your house. I think painting is a good idea. I am kind of dreading the whole mess of carving pumpkins. I need to change the attitude.

We have not carved our pumpkins yet, we plan on doing it Friday night...better late then never, but after all the injury's in your home I may have to reconsider. Kali's costume is the best. I love her pose as well, she is so cute! And Tanners hair...LOVE IT! I'm glad your boys are liking soccer. We have our last game on Thursday, thank goodness, it's way too cold to sit outside.

I was in the middle of class and I read your comment about the boys not being into the costumes as Kali...I made an audible laugh and had to cover the sound with the squeaking of my desk as to not draw too much attention. I thought that picture was So funny.

Kali has the best expression on her face with her halloween costume on! I love all the action shots on the soccer field. I can't wait until you all move back and we can watch them play. Sorry about the pumpkin incidents. That does not sound like fun. Happy B-Day Tan! Love ya tons!
