Spring Break

We started out our Easter Break with a 10,000 egg hunt.

Kali with her friends Christain and Madison
I love that Tanner pretended he was 12 just so he could hunt for eggs one more year.
Kevin had the week before Easter break off so we went to Little Washington for lunch while the kids were in school. It is so beautiful this time of year.

We had lunch at the Pirates Grill, I would not recommend it

Then the big event!!!! Wednesday, Chelsea and the boys came. We went on lots of bike rides. The weather was perfect. I think it ranged from 80 to 90 degrees the whole time they were here.

The kids loved little Deeder so much.
On Thursday, they got to go to one of Tanner's soccer games for his school, who are 5-1 with 2 games to go.
On Friday we died eggs.

Then our own Easter egg hunt.
Then on Saturday we were off to the beach. That is a full Suburban.
We went to Emerald Isle. We got a hotel right on the beach. About 10 minutes after we checked in they had their first annual Easter Egg Hunt. Our third one of the year, they kids were stoked.
Kevin made me get a picture with the Easter bunny. A funny story about this particular Easter bunny... we went back to our rooms to get our swim suits on and I saw the Easter Bunny smoking right next to our room. I told Chelsea quietly cuz I thought it was funny but didn't really want the kids to know, well they all heard me and that is all Tayler could talk about for the rest of the day. Only in NC would you find a smoking Easter bunny.
The beach was perfect, a little crowded, but the weather was perfect.

The water was still a little chilly but the brave ones did get in. That included everyone but me and Chelsea I think.
Trying to get a cute group shot.

I think D is yelling at the kids.
2 days in the warm sun at the beach, we couldn't of asked for a better Easter. We got home later on Sunday. The kids looked for their baskets when we got home. They each got a shirt, sandals, and cinnamon bunnies, and a few little toys.

On Monday we went to Little Washington to look at turtles. We saw a few. It was so hot though I wish it were about 10 degrees cooler and it would of been perfect.

Kali took my camera and took a bunch of pictures, she actually took some really cool ones. This tree was one of her pictures.
Here I am trying to help out with little D. He didn't really want any one but mom though. Sorry Chels.
We stopped at Scoops for some ice cream.
And the kids had to have one of Bill's Hot Dogs.
On Tuesday we went to River Park North. It is just getting green and it is so beautiful. Unfortunately it was very flooded and we were not able to go very far back but it was still lots of fun. Tanner was a party pooper though, he would not go with us. His loss:)

We had such a blast riding bikes.

On Wednesday we had to take Chelsea back home. So we drove up to Raleigh that morning so we could do some fun stuff up there. First stop the Museum of Natural Science. They had a butterfly room.
And lots of creepy crawly things.
Then it was off to Shelley Lake, thanks for the idea Jake, we had never been there, it was beautiful I wish we had more time to spend there. There was walking trails and a lake and a play ground, we will have to go back next time we go to Raleigh.

Last picture of the gang before they were off to cold snowy Utah. At least you went back with a tan and lots of good memories. Thanks for coming Chels you made our Spring Break a lot more adventurous, and fun. Miss you already.
