Over the Christmas break we wanted to go on a last minute vacation before school started up for Kevin. We started by driving about 30 miles east of us to a little town called Washington, it is on the Pamlico Sound. It is beautiful. We went to Swan Creek National Park where the kids got a little closer to the wild life. We walked along a boardwalk in a swamp were there is beavers, snakes, all kinds of birds and the occasional alligator. We didn't see any of them. We then went to Bath NC, famous for the oldest church in NC built 1732. It is also famous because of one of it residents, Blackbeard the pirate. It was a really old neat town. You could buy a house on the river for a measly 1.3 million.
