A pat on my back

Christmas Party

Yesterday we had our ward Christmas party. This has been my project over the last 3 weeks. K, as you might have remember reading about in a earlier post, I really have no obligation in this whole ordeal. Kevin has so busy with school that I have been taking over his position in the activities committee. I enjoy it very much. Amelia is my friend that is the head honcho of the whole thing, just happened to get very sick a week and a half before the party. And had to have surgery the day before. So now I am planning this party and taking care of her 3 kids while she is on bed rest. Which I don't mind. I am glad I am in the position that I can help. So everything is going well, I have made the angle halo's, the wise men props, the donkey's and sheep hats for the Nativity scene for the program. I have made all the 12 days of Christmas #'s for another part of the program. I have made all 50 goodie bags for the kids. My jello salad, and dessert, and ham. Gone grocery shopping for the rolls. Decorated the gym with all my Christmas decoration from my house. Of coarse I had a little help from Julie, and Sonja and my sweet husband (who might I remind you is in is charge.) It this is not enough, my neighbor who is going through a divorce called me 2 hours before I had to leave to be at the church and asked if I could watch his 3 kids, and have them sleep over, why not. I had to also get on the stage and MC the first part of the dinner by welcoming everyone. Everything went smoothly during dinner. Then when the program was about to start, someone realised that the carpet in the chapel was getting soaked (it was raining). They are adding on to our building so the rain was just pouring in. Kevin spent the next hour and a half on the roof hammering on a tarp in the dark in the rain. He came in soaked note the last picture on this post. So I had a great time and got many compliments, like that is the biggest turn out ever, and the best show in 15 years, it made me feel good to be a part of it all.

The primary did the Nativity scene, it turned out really great thanks to Julie, she practically did it all.
Kali and her friend Hayley as angles
Tanner was asked to be Joseph but he is to cool for that. I think he regreted it after we were there and the kids were having so much fun.
Kevin soaked to the bone. He is so sore today. He was up on the roof in his sandals, smart I know. One guy helping stepped on a nail and it went all the way through his shoe and foot. Kevin just got wet, cold and sore from the whole thing.

Wow Kim it sounds like you have missed your calling to be an event coordinator. Screw teaching there is a lot more money in that!

Good job Kim, I am so proud of you! I would have pretended I was sick and dumped it all on someone else. You truly amaze me. Congrats to Kevin, all A's, that is very impressive.
