I help in Kaden's class every Tuesday. I have mostly been filing papers. But the last couple of weeks the kids have been taking placement spelling tests to see where they place in that subject, I have had the privilege of correcting the tests. Now if you know me at all, you know I am the worst speller around. So great job for me I know. These kids don't have a chance they can't even sound out the words right, with their southern accents and all. Not only is it hard for the kids to sound them out they have to listen to the teacher who has a very strong accent. She was giving another test when I was there today, I just wanted to take the paper from her and say the words right. One word was soil and the teacher was saying " I am going to plant the seed in the soul" it just makes me laugh. Good thing Kaden is a smart kid he gets them mostly right.

After all those who live in Layuhn might get confused when we refer to the mountains instead of the mou-uhns. Even though they seen them just the other day.
:-)
Way to help out with the class and I never thought that kids would have a hard time learning how to spell if people have accents and it only makes sense! Poor kids
Are you getting an accent? I didn't hear one on you when you were here for the summer - but you better watch out! :)
that would be so hard. i can't even imagine. my sister lives in southern maryland and she has an accent. i should warn her about her kids and spelling tests!
Accents crack me up, I remember when we first moved there and would go out to eat and we couldnt even understand them when they would take are order, never the less we ended up with things we didn't want or with out. So funny! Tell Kevin good luck on his finals too.
I'm right up there with you on spelling! I never thought about accents and spelling...wish I had an excuse!
